Self-Branding Tips To Increase Your Sales
You just started a small business and you don’t have a clue on how promote your business? Are you looking for ways to market without spending so much money? Well I have a few tips to share that could help you promote your brand.
So, has anyone else tried promoting their business using Facebook? I’m not a Facebook guru, but I created a business page last year. However, I spend most of my time on Instagram promoting my business. I created a business page on Facebook because not everyone has a IG account. Did you know Facebook has multiple ways you can promote your business? For example, when you post or create an Ad on your business page there is small icon located right below your post called “Boost Post”. Your Ad is marketed based on various categories such as gender, age, country, popular filters and so on. Once your Ad goes live based on the amount of clicks someone clicks your Ad or view your page is how the cost is calculated. I have used this route a few times and it has cost me big time. It can be quite expensive in the end. But, I want to share a few tips on how you can avoid all that and save money self-branding your business.
There are so many things you could use to help promote your business by using these few tips can help your business in a HUGE way.
1. Business Cards – They are great for spreading your business with just a few details on what your business consist of or what you do. The essential details you always want to include on your business cards is your name, the name of your business, your business email address or phone number, and your business website or store. If there is room to add your social media icons add that as well. Not everyone has a Facebook or someone may have one verse the other one.
2. Thank you cards – You should always be appreciative of your customers choosing to do business with you. Think about it. You’re building a relationship. Relationships equal referrals. Every time you get a new customer or client, send them a card thanking them for choosing to do business with your company. Because they did choose to do so, didn’t they? They probably could have gotten the product or service from another company. However, they chose to get it from you. Aren’t you glad they did? Of course you are! A simple “Thank you!” goes a long way. So tell them. “Thank you!
3. Customer Service – I want to stress how important customer service is the driven KEY to a successful business. I want to share a few pointers I use. Always greet your customers by First or Last name. When I say always, I mean ALWAYS. If you operate an online business/store front when your communicating with your customers via internet you should always address your customers by their “First or Last name”. Why is this important? It lets your customer know you are guaranteed to serve them with excellent high quality service at all times. When I communicate with my customers I always address them in email by name from beginning to completed sale. The customer is confident in your business and more than likely they will be back because of your excellent customer service skills. So how does this promote your business? Because if one customer is pleased with your service they are more than likely going to spread a good word to others about you.

4. Social Media – There goes that word again. I’m in no way saying not to use Facebook as I mentioned earlier. I just want to help someone who is looking for other ways to promote their business. I hope that makes sense. Social media is the thing to have in the 21 century. If you have a social media account(s) your grandma probably has one too. Post, Post, Post. Be sure to post high quality photos with good lighting. Natural lighting is highly recommend, but if you don’t have time to take your photos during the day. Use a good lamp or light bulb that gives off natural light. People are always drawn by the appearance of how something looks online. Using social media platforms is a great way to promote your business. You don’t have to spend money on social media to promote your business. I would advise you pay close attention to your social media stats (business accounts). Instagram and Facebook I know for sure have a stat icon located above or in your profile. It’s looks similar to cellphone signal bars. Just click the icon and it will show you how many profile views you have, impressions, number of followers you have gained in weeks days and so on. You will also notice it gives you insight on what time or days your followers are online. I always find myself paying close attention to this information because it helps me determine the best time to post on my social media accounts.
I hope this information is helpful to you as it has been to me. I’ve seen an increase in my sales since I started using these few tips with promoting my brand. Anyone can do this it’s not hard. I don’t have a degree in marketing and I am not a marketing coach. But, I have found just by using these few key pointers have helped my business grow.
Best wishes & continued success
