NEW Brush Pens REVIEW: Zebra Funwari & Metallic Brush Pens
Hey y’all! My friends over at ZebraPen.com sent me over these AMAZING brush pens early this month. Why you take so long to share? I know right! But, I promise you are going to want to read this review. I have some awesome news to share with you at the end.
So, if you follow me on Instagram you probably have already heard me talk about how AMAZING these brush pens are. I mean who doesn’t love pens?
Let me FIRST, talk about Zebra Funwari Fude Color Brush Pens. Y’all these colors are so vibrant and I just love the colors ink in this package. The ink is water based dye. Zebra Funwari Fude Color Brush Pens come in assorted 6-count colors: Red, Golden Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Light Pink, and Violet/Purple! When I saw that purple, I immediately had to try it. Y’all if anyone knows me my favorite color is purple, so it’s a win-win for me! But, these pens are so easy to use for hand lettering or illustration, especially if you are a beginner looking to use more color brush pens instead of standard black ink.
These pens have a lot of pen control and write so well on paper. I’m using Canson Brush Marker paper in the example below.
Here are some examples of each color below:

What’s SUPER exciting about the Zebra Funwari Fude Color Brush Pens is if you’re like me and you are a heavy handed writer or you feel a little shaky when brush lettering. These brush pens have awesome pen control and a nice firm grip when you use them. I love the brush fine tip of the ends because it reminds me of Zebra’s Super Fine Brush Pen. One of my other favorites’ of theirs from their Zebra Zensation line. The brush tip has great control and just enough spring for thick and think strokes for brush lettering.
If you are not using them for brush lettering they are also great for illustration or drawing and other hand lettering styles: bouncy lettering, san serif, block letters, monoline letters, faux calligraphy, and more.
Zebra Metallic Brush Pens are the newest brush pen release this month. What’s so cool about their metallic brush pens is using them to write on black or dark paper. The metallic inks are water-based pigment ink, acid free, archival and odorless. Zebra Metallic Brush Pens, medium point comes in 7-count colors: Metallic Bronze, Metallic Deep Blue, Metallic Gold, Metallic Green, Metallic Pink, Metallic Silver, and Metallic Purple. There goes that purple again! Eeek! I love it! Zebra Metallic Brush Pens are all uniquely vibrant and their colors really pop when you write with them on light/dark/black paper.
The thickness of each tip you can see the shimmer ink color. The ends of the tip when brush lettering are not to flimsy as other brush lettering markers I’ve used in the past. They also have great control and have a firm, but flexible tip when using for creating down vs up strokes and think vs. thick strokes. But there not only for brush lettering artist, illustration artist can also use these pens to create wonderful art masterpieces.
